COLUMBIA, MO. • If anyone knows about the tough environment at South Carolina’s Colonial Life Arena, it’s Missouri’s Sophie Cunningham.
The senior guard was booed every time she touched the ball the last time the Tigers played in Columbia, S.C., in a game most remember for what happened afterward.
Monday’s 6 p.m. tipoff on ESPN2 will be the first time the two programs meet since Jan. 28, 2018, a physical game that resulted in allegations of spitting and racial taunting by Gamecock fans, public bickering, a lawsuit and a league-mandated arena security review.
“If you’re focused on last year, you’re going to be beat by 40,” Missouri coach Robin Pingeton said.
