Tennessee extends Mizzou's road woes as Tigers fall 90-70

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. • Missouri sophomore guard Terrence Phillips got an easy steal and breakaway layup to cut Tennessee’s lead to 79-61 Saturday with just more than 5 minutes to play.

With the Tigers’ 33rd consecutive road loss imminent, Missouri third-year coach Kim Anderson still called timeout after Phillips’ bucket to continue instructing his squad – one that is destined for double-digit seed and subsequent play-in game in the SEC Tournament in early March.

“We talked with our guys in preparing for this game about how Tennessee plays. The impressive thing about them is how hard they play,” said Anderson, who is now 26-63 (8-42 SEC) at Missouri.
