COLUMBIA, Mo. — Friday marks the first day of Eli Drinkwitz’s second preseason football camp at Missouri, but in many ways, it still feels like the first.
A year ago, college football was at the mercy of the coronavirus pandemic. Offseason practices and workouts were carefully managed or in some cases canceled altogether. The regular season started later than usual. Some teams endured four months of stops and starts as COVID protocols emptied stadiums and created new routines for programs across the country.
Now, as the Tigers open camp Friday, four weeks ahead of their Sept. 4 opener against Central Michigan, some normalcy has resumed.
