Now that Mizzou football spring practice has officially begun, we will continue our spring position battles series in earnest. Last week we previewed spring practice with our first in the series, taking a look at the battle for three open starting spots along the offensive line. This week, we flip over to the defensive side of the ball where we take a look at who will be competing this spring in one of the more under-performing positions from the 2024 squad: the safeties.
The Departures

Entering the 2024 season, the safety position was one of the most experienced units on the defense, with three fifth-year seniors in Joseph Charleston, Sydney Williams and Tre’Vez Johnson returning along with several other experienced players on the roster.
