Down to their last at-bat, the Tigers found an unlikely hero and also a familiar one.
Suddenly down 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth after an errant throw by left fielder Kayley Lenger allowed Marra Cramer to score and break the 0-0 deadlock, it looked a bit bleak. The Tigers, after all, had been hitting Omaha ace Kamryn Meyer, but hadn’t been able to show for it on the scoreboard.
But in the seventh, it all changed. Perhaps Meyer was finally mortal after throwing approximately 6 billion pitches in three straight games in the mid-MO heat.
