Heartbreak struck the Tigers with Mississippi State down to its final strike, as pinch hitter Matalasi Faapito ripped an RBI single to keep the Bulldogs alive before Nadia Barbary gapped a go-ahead, two-run double on the first pitch she saw to sink MU 3-2 in its final regular-season home game of the season.
“It sucks, can’t say it any differently,” Missouri head coach Larissa Anderson said. “We had it, but again, we only had three hits, and we gotta grind.
