Rock-M-Tology: Mizzou’s Path to a Protected Seed Becomes More Difficult

It was a missed opportunity for the Missouri Tigers in the 97-93 overtime loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday. With the disappointing result, Mizzou no longer controls their own destiny to get a top four seed in the SEC Tournament — and perhaps the NCAA Tournament as well.

On paper, this will just go down as a Quad 1 loss on Missouri’s resume. This just goes to show that winning on the road is extremely difficult — especially in the best conference in college basketball.

Mizzou is currently 6-8 in Quad 1 games, 14th in the NET rankings, 12th on KenPom, and 8th on Bart Torvik.
