Report: Mizzou hires Arizona State’s d-line coach

Various media reports say Arizona State defensive line coach Jackie Shipp is leaving Arizona State to take the same position at Missouri. Mizzou officials have not confirmed the news, but are expected to make the announcement after National Signing Day.

Shipp will take over for Chris Wilson, who was at Mizzou for less than a month before leaving for the same role with the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles. Shipp is a 25-year coaching veteran and has made stops at Alabama and Oklahoma during his career. He had spent the past three seasons at Arizona State.

While an assistant with the Sooners, Shipp coached standout defensive tackles Tommie Harris and Gerald McCoy.
