Earlier this week, the NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel passed a guideline that will allow college football programs to sell sponsor advertisements on its playing fields during the regular season.
The new rule states that schools are allowed three advertisements: there can be one at midfield and two elsewhere. Previously, on-field sponsors were only permitted for postseason and neutral-site games.
While schools are not required to place sponsorships on its playing fields going forward, many, including Mizzou Athletic Director Laird Veatch, have already spoken about their desire to do so.
