COLUMBIA, Mo. • Quarterback Taylor Powell handed the ball off to Larry Rountree III, who didn’t make it very far and was tackled for a 1-yard loss.
Although it was Powell’s first play of his first drive in a college football game, the redshirt freshman didn’t look rattled.
He looked to the sideline, got his next play and clapped his hands.
On his second play, Powell secured the snap quickly, saw a Tennessee-Martin defender coming and darted forward as he tossed the ball downfield to Emanuel Hall.
Powell’s drive didn’t end in a touchdown, but he did turn some heads after replacing Drew Lock midway through the third quarter in Missouri’s 51-14 win Saturday.
