The Denver Nuggets announced Thursday that their first-round draft pick had surgery of the lumbar spine at The Carrell Clinic in Dallas by spinal specialist Andrew Dossett, the same doctor who performed Porter's first back surgery in November. After playing less than three minutes of his first regular-season college game at Mizzou, Porter underwent a procedure called a microdiscectomy of the L3-L4 spinal discs on Nov. 22. Mizzou initially said the five-star prospect would face a recovery time of three to four months and probably miss the rest of the season but he returned for MU's final two games, postseason losses to Georgia and Florida State.
