Porter advances as Mizzou places third at NCAA Regional

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The No. 20 Mizzou gymnastics team scored a 195.850 to finish third in the NCAA Minneapolis Regional Saturday afternoon to mark the team's best Regional finish since the team won the Columbia Regional in 2010. Freshman Morgan Porter (Overland, Mo.) placed third in the all-around competition with a 39.300 to qualify as an individual to the NCAA Championships, the first Tiger gymnast to advance since Rachel Updike in 2012.

Florida (196.725) and Minnesota (196.175) advanced to the Championships after they finished first and second, respectively, in the team race. Denver took fourth (195.700), followed by Ohio State in fifth (194.
