COLUMBIA, MO. • Trying to win a third straight game to close the regular season Saturday before next week's Southeastern Conference tournament, Missouri couldn't preserve another lead by double-digit points and lost to Ole Miss 73-68 at Mizzou Arena.
Down three points with a chance to tie the game on their final possession, the Tigers came up short when Ole Miss' Bruce Stevens' blocked Jordan Geist's shot under the rim. With the loss, Mizzou (14-16, 5-13 SEC) clinches the No. 12 seed in the SEC tournament and will play No. 13 seed Georgia on Wednesday in Nashville, Tenn.
