COLUMBIA, MO. • As one of the few staff holdovers during the Missouri football regime change from Gary Pinkel to Barry Odom, assistant coach Andy Hill had to answer similar questions from recruits and their parents the last two months. From the broad queries about unrest on Mizzou’s campus to the more specific football questions — who’s going to be my position coach? — Hill had to preach caution and understanding.
Easier said than done on the Southeastern Conference recruiting trail.
“The hard part is saying to the recruits, ‘This is gonna be fine,’” Hill said Wednesday as Odom announced his inaugural signing class, a mix of high school prospects and transfers.
