Odom more hopeful Bryant can play at Georgia

Missouri coach Barry Odom sounded more optimistic about quarterback Kelly Bryant’s status for Saturday’s game at No. 6 Georgia when he took questions during Wednesday’s SEC coaches conference call. Stopping short of saying Bryant will definitely start, Odom's tone distinctly shifted from Tuesday's uncertainty.

On Tuesday, Bryant and backup Taylor Powell split practice snaps evenly with the first-team offense while Bryant recovers from a strained hamstring suffered in the Tigers’ last game at Kentucky on Oct. 26. If Mizzou played Georgia on Tuesday, Odom said, Bryant wouldn’t be available.

But Bryant “took the majority of the snaps with the ones” on Wednesday, Odom said, and was “on track to play” against the Bulldogs.
