COLUMBIA, Mo. — All the hot hands burned out, except one pair.
After MU’s opening night win, Missouri men's basketball head coach Dennis Gates said all-SEC talent Kobe Brown wouldn’t be the Tigers’ top scorer every game.
He was right — Noah Carter’s 28-point evening almost single-handedly staved off a furious Penn effort as Missouri scrambled to make it two wins in two games of the Dennis Gates era despite a game-long scare, defeating Penn 92-85 on Friday at Mizzou Arena.
Gates managed to avoid an embarrassing home loss that has become somewhat of a Tigers tradition in recent years.
