No. 15 Mizzou men miss opportunity to climb SEC ladder in seeding race by losing at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Missouri was metaphorically munching on hors d'oeuvres.

Such was the slant of the Southeastern Conference. How could it not be appetizing for a team looking to climb into one of the league’s top seeds? Like the little bites whose French name translates to “outside of work,” the Tigers were getting a taste for what could come out of conference play.

“We want to win an SEC championship,” Mizzou coach Dennis Gates said before last week’s games against Alabama and Arkansas. “There’s enough games out there for us to possibly do that. The next phase of that is having a double bye (in the SEC tournament).
