NASHVILLE, Tenn.• Down to their final 40 minutes of the season and Kim Anderson’s last chance to prolong his run as their coach, the Missouri Tigers flirted with an extended stay at the Southeastern Conference tournament.
Make that 45 minutes.
As the No. 14 seed in the 14-team bracket, Anderson’s Tigers drew a familiar opponent in Auburn, the same team they played four days earlier to close the regular season.
This time, it would take more than regulation to decide a winner.
But what a win it was, easily the most emphatic of the Anderson era.
