A little bit of semantics here, but we’re going with Cunningham being the record-breaker.
Cunningham was the first pick in the second round — 13th overall — which edges out Missouri’s first and only first-round pick (15th overall).
Cunningham becomes the highest selected Missouri player in the 23-year history of the WNBA draft. Amanda Lassiter was a first round pick in 2000 but at No. 15.

Cunningham joins a pretty talented cast in Phoenix, and the Mercury have advanced to the WNBA semifinals for each of the last six years.
