COLUMBIA, MO. • Missouri baseball coach Steve Bieser will be tuned into next week’s MLB draft with his 2018 roster at stake. As many as seven draft-eligible third-year players could get selected during the three-day draft, including critical pieces from the pitching rotation and everyday lineup that helped the Tigers win 36 games in Bieser’s debut season.
Bieser knows that projected first-round choice Tanner Houck (Collinsville) has pitched his last college game and will sign a professional contract this summer. The fate of Mizzou’s other prospects will hinge on where they’re selected in the draft and how much money they’re offered during contract negotiations.
