COLUMBIA, MO. • Missouri’s Kevin Puryear was one of eight players named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team as voted by the league coaches. Puryear, a 6-7 forward from Blue Springs, Mo., led the Tigers in scoring at 11.5 points per game, the first freshman to lead MU in scoring since Steve Stipanovich in 1979-80. He also finished second in rebounding at 4.6 per game and led the Tigers in free throws made (101), attempted (122) and percentage (83.6).
“It’s a complete honor, especially considering the other freshmen around the conference,” Puryear said.
