Mizzou freshman forward Michael Porter Jr., arguably the most prized recruit in the program's history, just made history.
The star of first-year coach Cuonzo Martin's new-look Tigers team has added another honor to a resumé that includes sky-high recruiting rankings and lofty NBA lottery pick expectations.
Porter enters his likely lone season of college basketball as an Associated Press preseason All-American, AP announced Monday.
The 6-foot-10 Porter earned 30 votes from the 65-member national media panel that voted on the annual team. That secured Porter the final spot on the five-man team, and made him just the fifth freshman to secure the preseason honor.
