COLUMBIA, MO. • Scott Geist can count on his hand how many times his son didn’t call him after a Missouri basketball game the last two seasons. Just three.
The first time Tigers guard Jordan Geist didn’t call home came after a 39-point loss at Florida in 2017. Last fall, Scott’s phone didn’t ring after a second-half meltdown against West Virginia, when the Tigers blew a 16-point lead as three Geist turnovers proved costly.
Then last Jan. 6, when Florida intercepted Geist’s last-possession pass and beat the buzzer on a game-winning layup. In Mizzou’s otherwise celebrated season, that was rock bottom.
