COLUMBIA, MO. • Missouri’s 2015 season would soon spiral out of control and take turns nobody saw coming, but the Tigers came across one promising discovery midway through the season. Freshman Cam Hilton could catch the ball.
The rookie from Webster Groves moved from safety to receiver four games into the season, and in the fifth game his first career catch came on Drew Lock’s first converted third down in his first career start, a 9-yard strike to move the chains. Lock now calls it the “scariest throw” he made all year.
Three years later, Hilton is back on the other side of passes, still trying to get his hands on the ball.
