COLUMBIA, Mo. — Twenty games into the Missouri basketball season what appeared to be a coincidence looks more like a trend: So goes Javon Pickett, so go the Tigers.
The sophomore from Belleville doesn’t lead Mizzou in multiple statistics and doesn’t always start, and while he’s considered a defensive stopper first and foremost, the Tigers are 6-0 in games when he scores in double figures. Four of those games are MU’s best wins of the season — against Temple, Illinois, Florida and Tuesday’s comeback victory over Georgia.
In those four, Pickett has averaged 12 points per game.
