COLUMBIA, Mo. — All Eli Drinkwitz needs is love. And a new defensive coordinator.
But the two things are rather connected, as the Missouri coach put it during a Tuesday speech at a football coaching convention.
In his first comments since former Mizzou defensive coordinator Blake Baker left last week in sudden fashion to take the same position at Louisiana State, Drinkwitz opened up to a crowd of coaches about his emotional connection to his staff.
"I recently had one of my best friends, Blake (Baker), decided to go take the job at LSU," Drinkwitz said.
