COLUMBIA, Mo. — The first two days of the December transfer portal window saw Missouri lose a surprise prospect and a small handful of depth players as well as set in motion a potential special teams overhaul.
So goes the business portion of the calendar.
Of the departures to have entered the transfer portal or announced their intent to do so, edge rusher Williams Nwaneri is the most notable. The five-star recruit who anchored the Tigers’ 2024 recruiting class played sparingly while redshirting this season, and now he’s in the portal.
Nwaneri’s exit certainly qualifies as unexpected, even if his limited playing time emerges as a possible or partial reason for him to transfer.
