COLUMBIA, Mo. — If the Missouri basketball team can measure its progress from a lifeless January to a suddenly resurgent February by the veins bulging out of Bruce Pearl’s head, then Saturday was another great day for the Tigers.
In front of the biggest home crowd in two years, Missouri made a clear statement at Mizzou Arena on Saturday: It hasn’t given up on a once-spiraling season.
With 12,506 on hand, including a packed student section, Mizzou held off No. 11 Auburn 85-73, breaking up a winning streak at seven games for what had been the Southeastern Conference’s hottest team.
