COLUMBIA, Mo. — When the Missouri football team kicked off its first preseason practice Monday morning the Tigers were unsure who they were preparing to face in their first game.
By the afternoon, they knew.
Alabama’s quest for a sixth national championship under Nick Saban begins in Columbia on Sept. 26.
That piece of news didn’t change how the Tigers practiced on Tuesday on the second day of preseason camp. With more than five weeks before the opener against Alabama, first-year coach Eliah Drinkwitz has other priorities.
“The message to the team (Monday) night and everybody else is Mizzou’s worried about Mizzou right now,” Drinkwitz said during Tuesday’s media video conference on Zoom.
