COLUMBIA, Mo. • Royce Boehm found his son on the verge of tears at the Hilton Garden Inn last Friday in Kansas City.
It was the eve of Missouri’s football game against Brigham Young at Arrowhead Stadium. This was supposed to be a joyous homecoming for Boehm, the Tigers’ starting center from Lee’s Summit. Instead, the latest thunderclap to strike Missouri’s program left the team captain in a fog.
“He broke down,” Royce said. “He said, ‘Dad, what a hell of a week. A hell of a week.’”
More like a hell of a season.
