COLUMBIA, MO. • In light of the NCAA’s ruling against the Missouri football program, Tigers coach Barry Odom has a message as the school begins the appeals process: “Bring it on.”
Meeting with reporters on Friday at Mizzou Arena, barely 24 hours since the NCAA Committee on Infractions released its findings on MU’s academic fraud case, Odom called the ruling and penalties “shocking, as they were to all.”
Missouri will soon begin the appeals process with the NCAA’s Infractions Appeals Committee. The school hopes the five-person panel will overrule some of the ruling’s harshest penalties, starting with the one-year postseason ban, along with recruiting restrictions and scholarship reductions.
