Mizzou Wrestling advanced two of its three semifinalists, Cam Steed and Keegan O’Toole, to the Big 12 finals for a chance at individual conference titles.
But after a promising opening session, the Tigers saw five of their 10 wrestlers eliminated in the second consolation round Saturday night, likely ending the NCAA Championships hopes of Gage Walker and Logan Gioffre.
125lbs: Gage Walker
Walker’s downturn to end the season continued as he faced Oklahoma’s Antonio Lorenzo, who beat him 4-1 last month in Norman. Walker got on the board first with an escape from bottom to begin the second, but Lorenzo scored the match-winning takedown in the final ten seconds of the period.
