The University of Missouri wrestling team opened the season on Nov. 2 with a 29-10 loss at No. 18 Virginia Tech.
It’s the first time the Tigers, ranked No. 7 nationally, have been under .500 since 2010, when they dropped their season-opening dual against Illinois at Edwardsville High.
In fact, over the last seven seasons, Missouri has lost just 12 dual matches while finishing 24-0 in 2014-15 and 19-0 in 2017-18.

“First of all, give credit where it belongs,” Missouri coach Brian Smith stressed. “Virginia Tech was the better team that night and they deserved the win.
