For the first time in team history, the Missouri women’s basketball team won at Tennessee on Sunday, knocking off the No. 10 Lady Volunteers 66-64 at Thompson Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn.
The Tigers have won two straight over the Lady Vols but before Sunday had been been 0-4 at Tennessee, all double-digit margin defeats.
“We knew it was going to be a really tough environment,” Tigers coach Robin Pingeton said on her postgame radio interview. “You’re talking about a really talented team. That’s a team full of McDonald’s All-Americans. They’re going to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
