COLUMBIA, MO. • Missouri’s offense only lost one scholarship wide receiver from last year’s team, but once Barry Odom’s rebuilt staff took shape in December, replenishing the receiver corps became a major priority.
The Tigers found instant additions on the transfer market: Alabama graduate Chris Black and junior college import Dominic Collins. Both could see immediate playing time, but the group’s most important acquisition might be a 54-year-old former walk-on.
From 1996-2012, Andy Hill established himself as one of the nation’s best wide receiver coaches, producing four first-team all-conference pass-catchers. For the last three seasons he’s coached quarterbacks with varying degrees of success, but with Josh Heupel’s arrival as Odom’s coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Hill returns to his former position, while serving as Odom’s associate head coach.
