From Barry Odom to Derek Dooley to Kelly Bryant, everyone around Mizzou is confident the quarterback will start Saturday after he left last week’s game with a sprained knee. With most injured players, Odom’s default mode is public optimism, sometimes, as proven the last couple years, when the player is still weeks away from returning to action. This time, though, it sounds more likely that Bryant is fit to return after his second-quarter scare against Troy. He’s getting used to wearing a brace on the leg and might not be much of a running threat. But barring an unforeseen change in plans, Bryant will start.
