COLUMBIA, Mo. — After the Missouri volleyball team’s NCAA Tournament draw was unveiled April 4, redshirt junior Andrea Fuentes went straight home from the team’s event, logged onto her computer and started examining first-round opponent South Dakota’s recent matches.
That initiative is a fitting thesis for how the team has approached its scouting and preparation for the tournament, which starts against the Coyotes at 11 a.m. Wednesday in an Omaha, Nebraska, bubble. As tempting as it is to think ahead — and as much as the Tigers (15-7) have sights set beyond than one match — getting ahead of themselves can be a dangerous game.
