Mizzou bounced back from an upset loss last Sunday against South Dakota by sweeping (25-13, 25-15, 25-18) Kansas City in this season’s home opener.
The Tigers got a big boost from the many screaming children (side note: OW) in attendance on Field Trip Day and cruised to the sweep, dominating at the net, limiting their errors and looking like the team we saw at the Bluejay Invitational.
Mizzou established that strong presence at the net early, taking a quick 5-1 lead with back-to-back blocks. The Tigers added another 5-1 surge after a service error by Mychael Vernon, taking a 10-3 advantage and forcing Kansas City to call a timeout.
