After a 3-1 victory on Friday night over Northern Kentucky, Mizzou lost its final two matches of the NKU Invitational to fall to 3-3 early in the season.
Let’s start with Saturday’s match against fourth-ranked Louisville, which the Tigers lost (20-25, 21-25, 18-25) in three sets.
Mizzou took an early 5-2 lead in set one with a kill and service ace by Jordan Iliff, but Louisville immediately responded with a 3-0 run to tie the match. The teams were briefly neck-and-neck, then the Cardinals pulled ahead 13-11 with two straight kills by All-American Anna DeBeer.
Louisville took a four point lead, 19-15, after a kill and then service ace by All-ACC middle blocker Cara Cresse.
