Mizzou Volleyball advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday with a sweep of Texas State (25-16, 25-22, 25-22), the ninth consecutive tournament where the Tigers have won their opening round matchup when participating. The team will face the winner of the match between SMU and Wichita State later tonight on Friday.
Mizzou showed why it was the favorite from the beginning, racing out to an early 6-2 lead in the opening set with three kills by Mychael Vernon. Leading 8-5, the Tigers then went on a 7-1 run capped by a Jordan Iliff service ace to lead by nine.
