COLUMBIA, Mo. • Before Missouri's basketball season officially tips off Friday night, it starts with familiar news: Sophomore guard Namon Wright and sophomore forward D'Angelo Allen are suspended for the exhibition game against Missouri Western for a "a violation of athletic department and team policies."
Both players will be available for the regular-season opener next Friday against Wofford. Allen and Wright, who started eight and 20 games last year, respectively, are in street clothes during pregame warmups for the 7 p.m. tip-off at Mizzou Arena.
Last season, Kim Anderson's first as Missouri's head coach, was marred by multiple player suspensions for a variety of reasons.
