Mizzou Softball is set to host its first NCAA Tournament regional since 2016, but the program isn’t unfamiliar with the postseason in recent seasons. Rather, the luck of the draw has been against them.
Speaking to the Columbia Tribune about the opportunity in front of them, head coach Larissa Anderson spoke about the program’s last few NCAA Tournament experiences, including getting bounced by eventual champion UCLA a few years ago.
“Finally, we’re rewarded for our success,” Anderson said. “It’s been a grind for the last three, four years for these players. The three years that I’ve been here, first year we got sent out to UCLA, who goes on to win the national championship.
