Maddie Gallagher starred in the latest chapter of Missouri softball’s storybook journey from worst to first in the Southeastern Conference.
The senior second baseman found herself thick in the plot of fifth-seeded Missouri softball’s 2-1 victory over eighth-seeded LSU in a SEC semifinal game Friday, driving in the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to punch MU’s ticket to the SEC title game.
“I am so unbelievably proud of this team,” Missouri coach Larissa Anderson said post-game. “One of our mottos is ‘team first,’ and we’ve talked about that all year long.
