Mizzou (1-3-1) soccer fell on the road to the Miami (1-2-1) Hurricanes 2-1, as a late game goal wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.
The Tigers started quick with several shots, but the Hurricanes broke the scoreboard first with a goal in the 39th minute from freshman Giovana Canali after weaving her way around a variety of Tiger defenders. This came after some sustained Miami pressure, including a pair of corner kicks leading up to the goal.
The Hurricanes padded the lead early in the second half, as a Miami free kick was redirected into the net by Mizzou defender Shania Spriggs.
