COLUMBIA, Mo. • After last week’s loss to Illinois in the Braggin’ Rights Game, Missouri point guard Terrence Phillips said the Tigers had to pulverize their next two opponents.
Well, not exactly, but another nail-biter wouldn’t do against the likes of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Savannah State in Mizzou’s final nonconference games.
“We’ve got to take control at home,” Phillips said last Wednesday. “We’ve got to beat somebody by 20 or 30 at home.”
Mission accomplished. And then some.
The Tigers devoured their creamiest creampuff of an otherwise robust nonconference schedule with Tuesday’s 78-25 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
