COLUMBIA, MO. • Missouri coach Barry Odom has some misgivings about college football’s new early signing period. But he won’t complain about the recruiting class his staff collected Wednesday, the first and busiest day of the new three-day format. The Tigers gained national letters of intent from 16 prospects and expect to add a couple more before the 72-hour signing window closes Friday.
“Woke up this morning and it’s almost like Christmas early with early signing day,” Odom said after Wednesday’s practice, one of MU’s final workouts in Columbia before the team leaves Friday for Houston, site of next Wednesday’s Texas Bowl against the Texas Longhorns.
