Mizzou football’s weekend started and ended with the turnover boxing robe.
It was featured Friday when the team revealed its uniforms for the game, a boxing gym hype video perhaps in accidental reference to the fistfight that broke out against Florida on Halloween. That was the last time coach Eli Drinkwitz’s Tigers had played a game, and it was the night they first unveiled the turnover robe and all its motivational bling.
In South Carolina on Saturday, Drinkwitz speculated in a halftime TV interview that Missouri still needed to force a turnover in order to win. The ensuing 30 minutes of football were proof that it takes a little extra fight to win in 2020.
