COLUMBIA, MO. • The only person who might feel more fortunate than Missouri football coach Barry Odom that the Tigers could hire defensive line coach Jackie Shipp might be Jackie Shipp.
In Shipp, Odom has one of the college game’s most respected D-line coaches, a veteran assistant who made his mark at Oklahoma for more than a decade.
At Missouri, Shipp inherits one of the Southeastern Conference’s best collections of defensive linemen — so rich with talent and depth the group rivals some of the elite lines Shipp coached at OU.
“Now you’ll never get me to make a comparison,” Shipp said after Saturday’s spring practice.
