Mizzou self-imposes penalties for NCAA violations from Haith regime

COLUMBIA, Mo. • For the last 19 months, the University of Missouri has worked with the NCAA enforcement staff to review potential violations in its men’s basketball program involving the former coaching staff of Frank Haith. As a result, Mizzou has self-imposed several penalties, including a postseason ban for the current season, which means the Tigers will not participate in the Southeastern Conference tournament in Nashville.

In a lengthy news release issued Wednesday, MU said its collaborative investigation with the NCAA found that the violations dated back to 2011, including what the NCAA considers Level I or major infractions.
