COLUMBIA, MO. • On a night dedicated to former Mizzou All-American Derrick Chievous, whose No. 3 was raised to the rafters at halftime, the Tigers could have used his scoring touch against No. 4 Kentucky.
Even at 51, the Band-Aid Man, still fit and trim 31 years after his last college game, could have helped the Tigers against John Calipari’s surging Wildcats.
Using a four-guard lineup throughout the second half, Mizzou made Kentucky sweat in the closing minutes, getting within six points on a late barrage of 3-pointers, but the Cats closed it out at the foul line with a 66-58 win.
